Hi Everyone, my name is Helena…
Born in Portugal, I earned my degree in Gerontology in 2010, driven by a passion for understanding the aging process and ensuring vibrant later years. In 2014, I further specialized with a post-graduation in Psych gerontology, delving into the emotional and psychological aspects of aging.
My career has led me through various roles in nursing homes and community programs, where I've had the privilege of supporting many wonderful seniors. My work has encompassed health assessments, chronic condition management, mental health support, and personalized care planning. It’s been an incredibly fulfilling path, but discovering yoga truly transformed my life.
Yoga entered my life when I was seeking a way to manage stress and improve my physical resilience. It was a revelation! The practice not only benefited me personally but also inspired me to incorporate holistic health practices into my professional work. Now, I combine my expertise in Gerontology with yoga to promote healthy aging, helping others achieve balance and well-being in body, mind, and spirit. This fusion of Gerontology and Yoga has shaped my journey, and I'm deeply grateful for where it has led me.
As a passionate surfer, I find balance through the harmony of yoga and surfing. For me, they are my yin and yang, grounding me while allowing me to flow with life’s currents.
A transformative trip to Costa Rica, initially intended as just a vacation, inspired a significant life change. I decided to embrace the serene and inspiring environment of Tamarindo, Costa Rica, to teach yoga full-time. Here, I share the benefits of yoga with others, offering them the opportunity to find peace and rejuvenation in this beautiful place.
